On April 14, 1865 I attended a comedy play at Ford's Theater in Washington D.C. The people accompanying me were my beautiful wife Mary Todd Lincoln, a twenty-eight-year-old officer named Major Henry R. Rathbone, and his fiancee Clara Harris. We were enjoying the comedy "Our American Cousin" while sitting in the presidential box. Little did I know then that John Wilkes Booth was going to assassinate me during the play.I was aimed and shot at by Booth and I was paralyzed immediately. My officer lunged for Booth but Booth slashed his arm and jumped over the balcony. A doctor came to aid me, however, I was paralyzed by the bullet that entered my skull. They rushed me to Tenth Street to a boarding house and doctors tried to save my life, but they failed. I was declared dead on April 15, 1865 at 7:22am.
I was the first president every to be assassinated. My death was caused by the strong division of the states during that time. It was a hateful time period because of the Civil War raged on and then with my assassination further enraged the country, the country became even more angry.
My death effected the country by causing more angry feelings between the south and north states. Since John Wilkes Booth supported the South many people felt more hatred to the South of my assassination. After losing their president many people felt more hatred to the South because of my assassination. Due to my assassination, the country had to reconstruct without my guidance and leadership.

ReplyDeleteHello, my name is Ronald Reagan and I was the 40th President of the United States. Also like you someone tried to assassinate me, but unlike you, he did not kill me. He shot me because he was a mentally insane, and not because he opposed my views. His bullet punctured my lung and I think I survived because I had great medical attetion and better technolgy.

A man named Richard Lawrence intended on killing me, but his gun malfunctioned during both shots he tried to aim at me.
Emily :) love you maggers

I am so sorry for what happened President Linoln but I wish that John gets what he deserves. And if he killed himself then I guess we could call him a coward. Because anyone who would kill more than one President should be sent to jail. Men who murder arn't men who win. Men who accept the changes in life those, are the winners and if they can't accept it there better off dead.
ReplyDeleteHEY mr. Lincoln, I am James Madison. I heard about this assasanation attempt by John Wilkes Booth. I am terribly sorry that he killed you. My heart went out to you and your family. But what you've done for our country is great and I thank you prefucioly.
