In 1832, I enrolled to fight in the Black Hawk War. I was soon elected to be the captain of a company of volunteers. My company joined regulars under Colonel Zachary Taylor. Sadly I was only able to serve 30 days in this capacity and then I was signed on as a private in the mounted Rangers. I soon joined the Independent Spy Corps. I saw no real action during my short career in the military.

My Thoughts on Slavery
My views on slavery have been constant over the years. I grew up in Kentucky with my family and i saw a lot of slaves and slave owners. My parents were one of the few who did not force others into doing our work. Some may say that i appear to support the belief in which whites are better than blacks. They mostly think that because i grew up in an area that believed, whites are better.
I recognised that slavery is wrong and should not be allowed to spread to new states. As i gained more political power and maturity i saw more aspects such as slave markets int the south. With my power I created a more national view of the slavery problems. Most of the people in my country were very upset with my views that slavery is wrong, my presidency was also one of the reasons which caused the civil war.

Assassination

I was aimed and shot at by Booth and I was paralyzed immediately. My officer lunged for Booth but Booth slashed his arm and jumped over the balcony. A doctor came to aid me, however, I was paralyzed by the bullet that entered my skull. They rushed me to Tenth Street to a boarding house and doctors tried to save my life, but they failed. I was declared dead on April 15, 1865 at 7:22am.
I was the first president every to be assassinated. My death was caused by the strong division of the states during that time. It was a hateful time period because of the Civil War raged on and then with my assassination further enraged the country, the country became even more angry.
My death effected the country by causing more angry feelings between the south and north states. Since John Wilkes Booth supported the South many people felt more hatred to the South of my assassination. After losing their president many people felt more hatred to the South because of my assassination. Due to my assassination, the country had to reconstruct without my guidance and leadership.

My Introduction
Welcome, my name is Abraham Lincoln. I was the 16th president of the United States of America. I was born on February 12, 1809 in Hardin Larue Country Kentucky. My parents names are Thomas and Nancy (Hanks) Lincoln, and they were both born in Virgina. My mother died when I was only ten years old. I have two siblings, Sarah and Thomas, sadly Thomas never made it out of infancy.
I married my wife Mary Todd on November 4, 1842. We had four boys named Robert, Edward, William, and Thomas. Thomas was the only one of my children to live to adult hood. After all my loss of family this sent me into a deep depression. It was nice to see that my eldest son married a wonderful woman and had a successful career as an American lawyer and a Secretary of War.
One of my earlier careers was being a captian in the Black Hawk War after I had been working on farm while keeping up with my education. I was also a lawyer and in legislative for eight years. I chose my political party as a Rupublican.
